Chapter 28 Sabrina

FOUR WEEKS LATER

I decided to head out for dinner with Spencer, looking to start over without Antonio. I continued to explain to Spencer that this was just a friendly dinner and nothing more. We both walked into Antonio’s restaurant, unbeknownst to either of us that Antonio was having dinner with an old girlfriend.

“What are we doing here, Spencer?” I asked.

“We have reservations. I heard it’s the best place in town and always booked in advance for reservations. Come on, let’s go. You need a break from the craziness.”

“I’m not sure about this place,” I said.

We continued talking and walking further inside. As we approached the dining area, Spencer placed his arm around my waist, pulling me into his body close as though I belonged to him. I narrowed my eyes down at his hand around my waist. I moved back up to his eye line toward whatever had his attention from the tight squeeze he held me with. I came face to face with Antonio and Camilla sitting at a table together. I stopped in my tracks when Antonio held a hard glare. We stared into each other’s eyes for the longest time before anyone made a sound.

Spencer pulled me closer to him, leaving his hand on my lower back.

Antonio, with his possessive nature clenched his fists together.

I turned to Spencer and said, “Let’s go somewhere else.”

“Sabrina, I’m not afraid of him. You can’t let him run you off,” he said.

Antonio rose from his seat and walked over to us.

“Get your hands off her,” he said.

We both turned to Antonio in shock.

“Listen, Mr. De Luca, I’m not on the clock at the moment. So, that means it’s after hours, and I’m on a date,” Spencer replied.

Antonio turned to look at me with a mixed expression of anger, hurt, and disgust.

“Are you dating this asshole?” he asked.

“It’s none of your business who I see, and for your information, he’s my friend. He’s been there for me since you left me, so you don’t have the right to question my social life based on what I see tonight,” I announced nodding over at his table.

“Sabrina, honey,” Spencer replied.

Before he could finish his sentence, Antonio had Spencer hoisted up by his throat and called over his bodyguards. Camilla and I both looked on in shock. Everyone in the restaurant started to get up and leave.

Spencer tried his best to get out of Antonio’s grip as I continued yelling at Antonio to put him down.

“What the fuck do you think you’re doing with Sabrina, huh? Answer me, I promise you one thing, the night won’t end the way you thought.”

Camilla tried calling Carlo to come over and help calm the situation, but he didn’t pick up.

“Antonio, please leave him out of this. I swear to God if you don’t let him go, I’ll never forgive you,” I screamed.

Antonio turned around and looked into my eyes. I stood with my arms across my chest, with my upper lip formed into a frown. I knew that I looked hurt and afraid of him for the first time.
